FUND FOR INNOVATIVE CANCER RESEARCH

The ‘Fund for Innovative Cancer Research’ was established on 7 August 2013 on the initiative of the Department of Oncology. The Fund promotes and supports innovative research into the development of novel and highly personalised cancer treatments that give each patient the best possible chance to beat cancer. Another important goal is to raise awareness and funds for fundamental and innovative cancer research at KU Leuven.

The Fund’s chair is Prof Dr Johan Swinnen, vice chair of the Leuven Cancer Institute and chair of the Department of Oncology of KU Leuven.

Vice-chair is Prof Dr Frédéric Amant, head of the Gynaecological Oncology unit and chief researcher of the ‘Patient-Derived Tumour Xenograft Project’.
